Job Summary:

RSK Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their Waste and Resources team as a Junior Waste Management Consultant. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental science or a related field and will be responsible for supporting the laboratory team with routine sample preparation activities and waste characterisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Work: Assist with waste sample preparation and testing, including flammability, biodegradability, and leachability testing, and prepare reagents.
  • Field Work: Support waste sampling activities on customer sites.
  • Data Processing: Input, analyze, model, and report data.
  • Reporting: Assist with the production of reports.
  • Communication: Communicate with internal and external parties.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of science A levels or a degree in a STEM discipline, preferably environmental or chemical science.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, and present it in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and innovate, take ownership of issues, and seek team participation to achieve best solutions.
  • Ability to adhere to safety, health, environmental, and quality protocols and advise on appropriate intervention or refinement.
