About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our Development Planning team in Guildford. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for leading the technical transport planning input into development projects, working closely with our Highways, Services, Structures, and Environmental teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical transport planning input into development projects, including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and access strategy work.
  • Develop and implement transport strategies, including parking strategies, sustainable transport, and active travel provision.
  • Work with senior colleagues to deliver complex multi-disciplinary projects, including project management and leadership.
  • Mentor Early Career Professionals to assist in the delivery of projects.
  • Develop and grow your professional network to support business development.

Requirements

  • Experience of leading technical work on Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and access strategy work.
  • Expertise in preparing traffic flow information for use in Transport Assessments and Environmental Statements.
  • Experience of project management, including budget planning, resource planning, and invoicing.
  • Capability of carrying out and/or supervising conceptual junction design.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to lead discussions with clients and project stakeholders.
  • Ability to share knowledge and mentor others.
  • Expertise in day-to-day software packages, including Excel and Word.
  • Chartered status in a transport-related discipline (desirable).
