Penguin Recruitment is seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Senior Town Planner to enhance their team in Edinburgh. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a professional with a solid background in planning and environmental consultancy. The selected candidate will collaborate with a dedicated team of planners, providing expert guidance on projects related to renewable energy, minerals, waste management, and residential developments.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Chartered Member of the RTPI (or nearing submission)
  • Proven experience in the planning sector, ideally within a consultancy framework
  • Experience with large-scale renewable energy and/or minerals and waste initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assuming the role of project leader for various assignments
  • Coordinating and overseeing multidisciplinary teams on extensive planning and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) projects
  • Providing mentorship to junior team members
  • Contributing to the growth of the team and managing workload, including the development of fee proposals
  • Establishing and nurturing client relationships
  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
  • Participating in client meetings and planning committee sessions
