Job Summary:

RGS Global is seeking a highly skilled SMT Engineer - Technical Specialist to join our team. As an SMT Engineer - Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support to the SMT department, ensuring the efficient and accurate operation of our surface mount technology equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Creation: Develop and implement surface mount programs for Mycronic SMT machines, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Package Creation: Design and create SMT packages for components, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously analyze and improve the efficiency and accuracy of Mycronic pick and place machines, identifying areas for optimization and implementing changes as needed.
  • Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve printing and placement errors, working closely with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure quality.
  • Line-Side Support: Provide technical support for paste machines, reflow ovens, AOI, and associated machinery, ensuring smooth operation and minimal disruptions.
  • Profile Creation: Develop custom reflow profiles using data collection software, ensuring optimal results and minimizing defects.
  • Breakdown Support: Assist with the repair of breakdowns, working closely with 3rd party support providers to minimize downtime and ensure quality.
  • New Product Introduction: Participate in new product introduction meetings, working closely with Production Engineering and Quality to ensure seamless integration and efficient operation.
  • Product Optimization: Ensure that new products are running efficiently and accurately, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in SMT engineering and technical support.
  • Strong knowledge of surface mount technology and related equipment.
