SMT Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled SMT Engineer to join our team at RGS Global. As a Surface Mount Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the SMT department with all technical aspects of the SMT process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation of Surface mount programs for SMT machines.
  • Creation of SMT Packages component packages.
  • Continuously improving efficiency and accuracy of pick and place machines.
  • Troubleshooting printing and placement errors.
  • Line side process support for paste machines, reflow ovens, AOI and associated machinery.
  • Creation of custom reflow profiles using data collection mole/software.
  • Assist with repair of breakdowns (with assistance 3rd party support providers).
  • Attend new product introduction meetings and assist Production Engineering/Quality.
  • Ensure that new products are running efficiently and accurately.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience with manufacturing machinery in an engineering support role.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
