Catering Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Catering Assistant to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer providing fresh and innovative food services to independent schools and colleges.

The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner according to established menus and recipes.

Maintaining cleanliness of the front of house areas, including organizing dishes and utensils, is also a key responsibility.

Following proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination is essential.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within education catering, good health and safety knowledge, and a flexible approach to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the front of house areas, including organizing dishes and utensils.
  • Follow proper food handling and storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.


Requirements

  • Experience working within education catering.
  • Good health and safety knowledge.
