London, Greater London, United Kingdom University of Bristol Full time
{"title": "Research Opportunities in Immunopsychiatry and Epidemiology", "subtitle": "Join a multidisciplinary team at the University of Bristol", "content": "

We are seeking talented postdoctoral researchers to join our Immunopsychiatry Programme at the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit. Our team is working to advance our understanding of the aetiological mechanisms for depression, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric conditions.

The successful candidate will lead research on the role of inflammation/immunity in depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions using epidemiological and genetic methods.

The work will involve analysis of large-scale population-based cohort/biobank data, including immunological, proteomic, and transcriptomic biomarkers. You will also write and publish papers, present at scientific conferences, and contribute to grant applications and other group activities.

We are looking for individuals with a strong background in epidemiology, genetics, and data science research. Experience in analysing population-based cohort/biobank data, especially studies involving immunological, proteomic, genetic, and other biomarkers and mental health outcomes, would be an advantage.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop new research skills and projects, and to contribute to the development of novel treatments and biology-based disease subtyping.

We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise. If you are passionate about advancing our understanding of mental health conditions, we encourage you to apply.
