Position: Support Engineer

Overview:

Our client, a leader in the renewable energy sector, boasts a team of seasoned engineers, each with an impressive average of 15 years of expertise in the industry. They focus on delivering customized Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and servicing solutions for wind turbine proprietors.


Compensation:

Salary ranges from £40,000 to £50,000 annually, contingent on experience.


Work Schedule:

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.


Role Responsibilities:

As a Support Engineer, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of Technicians committed to the effective operation and maintenance of the company’s turbine fleet. Utilizing insights from the operations team, your daily tasks will include:

  • Conducting scheduled maintenance
  • Addressing faults
  • Executing major component exchanges

Qualifications and Skills:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Authorised Engineer in a related field or equivalent demonstrable experience in technical support within a wind turbine context.
  • Ability to assist the technical team with troubleshooting and developing work instructions for both preventative and reactive maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of wind technical schematics and familiarity with OEM manuals.
  • Advanced knowledge of Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).
  • Proficient in corrective repairs and major corrective maintenance.
  • Effective communication skills for discussing complex technical issues over the phone.
  • Experience with V47, V52, V66, V80, G52, and G8X turbines, particularly V80 and V66.
  • Knowledge of specialized tools required for specific maintenance tasks.
  • Capability to work at heights.
  • A high degree of flexibility in work assignments.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, with occasional site visits required.
