About the Role

If you are a qualified Senior Accountant with extensive experience at a Senior Manager level, capable of demonstrating robust management and leadership capabilities, and have a proven track record of working with senior management, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the design, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of the Group's Financial Control methodologies, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures while incorporating the latest developments and best practices.
  • Accountable for the design and execution of the financial controls plan, embedding the second line within the Finance function.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the application of the Group's Financial Control methodologies.
  • Oversee the process aspects of the Financial Controls team, ensuring that systems controls are integrated to address the complete end-to-end process.
  • Significantly influence and guide the financial controls vision and roadmap for the Group, including evaluating opportunities for standardization and automation.
  • Review the testing of key controls and ensure that appropriate recommendations for enhancements are implemented to maintain a 'no surprises' environment.
  • Deliver customized training, guidance, and advice to both finance and non-finance teams, enhancing their understanding of the significance of financial controls in their respective areas.
  • Manage the Finance Risk Register, Controls Self Certification, and related validations concerning Financial Controls and Financial Risks on the Fraud Risk Assessment.
  • Prepare and present papers to committees on Financial Control matters.
  • Create control metrics to monitor the control environment for end-to-end processes through a Financial Controls Dashboard.
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and presentation of the monthly Financial Controls KPI pack by the team.
  • Encourage early involvement of the Financial Controls team in process changes to identify weaknesses and design necessary controls to mitigate risks.

About You

  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience (ideally 10 years, ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with a degree-level education. Candidates with experience outside this range are also encouraged to apply.
  • Assurance Qualification (CIA/ CMIIA or equivalent).
  • Extensive demonstrable experience in a similar role, with experience operating at Senior Manager level in internal audit, second line, or other assurance roles.
