Position Overview

Piramal Pharma Solutions is in search of a seasoned Lead Procurement Specialist to enhance our Procurement division. The ideal candidate will oversee the strategic planning and acquisition of essential materials, finished products, and services to support our production activities. This role requires close collaboration with various departments, including supply chain management, production, and quality control, to ensure efficient procurement operations and effective inventory oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically plan and implement procurement initiatives for essential materials, finished products, and services to facilitate production activities.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with suppliers to guarantee prompt delivery of superior products.
  • Engage with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions effectively.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
  • Formulate and manage procurement strategies, including demand forecasting, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
  • Oversee inventory levels to maintain optimal stock, minimize shortages, and prevent excess inventory.
  • Identify and execute cost-saving measures through supplier negotiations or by refining procurement processes.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to confirm that procured items meet established quality benchmarks.
  • Maintain precise records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and inventory data.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to enhance procurement processes and reduce expenses.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members.

Essential Tasks:

Achieve cost reductions for materials utilized in production.

Oversee supplier performance and develop alternative sourcing strategies when business risks are identified.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement focused on reducing Total Cost of Ownership and enhancing operational value.

Critical Skills:

Required:


• Comprehensive understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).


• Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities.


• Proficient negotiation skills to influence supplier outcomes.


• Familiarity with contract law.


• Proficient in IT, capable of summarizing and analyzing data using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


• Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures.


• Understanding of relevant environmental legislation.


• Awareness of pharmaceutical regulatory considerations affecting purchased materials.


• Skills in people management and development.
