About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Thames Water as a System Risk Team Manager, where you will play a key role in managing a team of customer risk analysts and a technical lead to provide a service for London and TV & HC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of risk analysts and technical experts to identify and mitigate potential risks to the water supply.
  • Develop and implement business strategies, targets, and KPIs to drive risk management and compliance.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective risk management and communication.
  • Interrogate data to assess and develop solutions to complex problems and ensure water quality compliance.
  • Provide specialist technical support to the wider business in relation to Clean Water System risks.
  • Ensure all network operations follow current Asset Management Procedures and perform root-cause analysis to prevent future failures.
  • Mentor and develop the team and other Thames Water colleagues to drive business awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reports and information requests accurately and to required timescales.

Requirements

  • Relevant leadership experience, preferably within the utilities industry.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to engage with different stakeholders throughout the business.
  • A growth mindset with strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
  • Teamworking is at the core of this role, as is the ability to work under pressure to meet demanding targets.
  • An extreme willingness to learn and work hard to drive professional knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
  • Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of hydraulic systems, SCADA/telemetry devices, GIS mapping systems, SAP, and other corporate IT systems such as Microsoft Office 365.
