PRODUCTION FINISHING SUPERVISOR

Our client, a prominent player in the gear manufacturing sector, specializes in serving the Aerospace, Defence, and OEM industries. They are seeking to recruit a seasoned Production Finishing Supervisor on a full-time permanent basis.

Production Finishing Supervisor Offer

Salary is competitive, ranging from 33k to 38k, commensurate with experience.

Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 06:30 to 15:15 and Friday from 06:00 to 13:00, totaling a 40-hour work week.

Production Finishing Supervisor Responsibilities

• Oversee trials of new components and meticulously document processing parameters.

• Manage inventories of cutting tools and essential consumables, ensuring timely supply requests.

• Collaborate with the Quality Inspection team to establish and uphold quality control standards.

• Lead a team of supervisors and operators, effectively allocating daily and weekly tasks.

• Identify skill gaps within the team and implement targeted training programs to mitigate single points of failure.

• Conduct induction training for new hires, along with staff appraisals, supervisions, and return-to-work meetings.

• Mentor operators to foster self-sufficiency and enhance skill sets.

• Provide technical expertise on tooling selection, processing parameters, work holding, processing sequences, finishing, and packing.

• Ensure 100% accuracy within the ERP system.

• Perform spot checks to maintain quality levels consistently.

• Achieve acceptable levels of overall equipment effectiveness.

• Organize preventative maintenance and cleaning of machinery in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, in collaboration with the Maintenance Team.

• Coordinate servicing and repairs of machinery, including daily TPMs.

• Liaise with the Operations Director regarding job planning, workload scheduling, progress tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.

• Uphold high health and safety standards within the team.

• Allocate departmental resources to ensure timely internal delivery dates.

Production Finishing Supervisor Requirements

• Proficiency in CAD software is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

• Adaptability to change and varying situations is essential.

• Demonstrated resilience and a flexible approach to challenges.

• Strong communication skills are a must.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the capability to deliver hands-on training.

• High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and manufacturing systems.

• Knowledge of ERP systems is critical.

• Familiarity with Health & Safety Management Systems (ideally IOSH certified) is preferred.

• Understanding of cutting tools, measuring instruments, and other ancillary equipment.
