Position Overview
In this position, you will assist the Senior Competition Law & Regulatory Counsels in overseeing competition law procedures and ensuring the efficiency of the competition law compliance program. You will also aid in compliance with Controlled Land Orders and develop the ability to provide insightful advice on competition law matters.
This role is structured as a 3-day per week job share on a fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborating with business partners to complete third-party merger questionnaires during Phase I and Phase II (EU and UK) Working alongside Property Acquisition and Location Planning teams to evaluate competition law risks associated with grocery store site acquisitions in the UK Maintaining essential competition law compliance documentation, including risk registers, RACI charts, policies, and guidance materials Updating training resources for e-learning, micro-learning, and in-person training related to competition law and Controlled Land Orders Preparing dawn raid materials and training relevant teams accordingly Managing the competition law inbox, compiling data for Committees, and escalating serious issues to management Assisting in the preparation of materials for UKLT and GRCC regarding competition law Supporting and conducting competition law assurance activities Handling CLO requests from the Competition & Markets Authority and working with Location Planning to gather necessary compliance information Providing ad hoc competition law advice commensurate with experience and skill level Assisting the Competition Law & Regulatory Team and the Regulatory, Ethics & Compliance Director with various competition law and CLO mattersQualifications
Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and advising on a broad spectrum of UK and EU competition law issues, with a practical and business-oriented approach. Ability to identify and navigate intricate legal challenges with a strong understanding of competition law. Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills, essential for building credibility with experienced internal and external stakeholders. Composed under pressure, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. In-house experience is preferred but not mandatory.Benefits
