Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team at GHA Recruitment Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Job Description:The Design Manager will be responsible for managing the design program, including processes, information flow, BIM, design assurances, and design resource on major projects ranging up to £10m. The successful candidate will have a good track record of solving complex metalwork problems and will be able to represent our client with architects, main contractors, engineers, and subcontractors.
The Design Manager will also be responsible for managing design risk and mitigating it, as well as managing the flow of technical information on the project. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with architectural and bespoke steelwork, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineer's and architect's drawings.
The Design Manager will work closely with the commercial, project, production, and site departments to ensure that all design deliverables are reviewed to establish they are within budget. The successful candidate will also have knowledge of current drawing practice and standards related to 3D model build, connections detailing, and fabrication drawings.
We are looking for a Design Manager who has strong knowledge of construction materials, specifically metalwork, methods, and technology. The ideal candidate will also have strong knowledge of planning techniques, procurement, and value creation, as well as good knowledge of contracts and contract documentation.
The Design Manager will also have knowledge of life cycle costs, risk management skills, and the ability to work to company procedures to ensure the flow of information and document controlling is maintained to a high level.
