About the Role
We are excited to announce an opening for a Patient Engagement Director at Norgine. This position will report directly to the VP of Medical Affairs and will be an integral part of our global Development team.
The primary responsibility of the Patient Engagement Director is to spearhead the creation of a comprehensive patient advocacy strategy and foster collaborative relationships between Norgine and our Patient Advocacy Group partners. This role will ensure that shared goals and priorities are identified and effectively pursued.
You will play a crucial role in establishing strategic alliances with selected Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs) and engaging with organizations focused on addressing patient needs, enhancing services, conducting research, and prioritizing public health initiatives. The position requires extensive collaboration across various teams to support the execution of advocacy, public affairs, and patient access policy initiatives across diverse issues, including awareness campaigns, market shaping, and reputation management. Initial focus will be within the rare disease sector, and prior experience in this area is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the global patient engagement strategic plan to enhance understanding and facilitate effective communication.
- Ensure that local requirements are central to the patient engagement strategy and that agreed plans are implemented effectively.
- Manage the execution of patient engagement tactics across relevant therapy areas, including budget management and resource allocation.
- Maintain essential relationships, organize regular meetings, and lead interactions at significant medical congresses and milestones.
- Coordinate engagement with regional, country, and cross-functional teams to implement key programs effectively.
- Provide guidance and expertise to colleagues in building relationships with external stakeholders.
- Enhance processes for collecting and analyzing data from patient engagement interactions.
- Implement clear processes to integrate insights into actionable strategies for Norgine.
- Facilitate the sharing of patient insights and testimonials for internal and external engagements.
- Create resources to empower Norgine leaders in engaging in meaningful public dialogue aligned with medical advancements.
- Lead the continuous improvement of Norgine's patient engagement procedures and processes.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills, strategic mindset, and attention to detail.
- Adept at navigating complex issues and executing strategic plans.
- Ability to plan and scope activities with limited information, including contingency strategies.
- Experience with applicable Codes of Practice.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and conflict resolution expertise.
- Proven project management and budgeting skills, including grant management experience.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to influence and lead within matrixed organizations.
- Demonstrated success in managing long-term patient engagement relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Experience in building support and engagement with patient groups for education and policy initiatives.
- Familiarity with global, regional, and local PAGs across diverse political and cultural landscapes.
- Politically savvy with the ability to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Experience in the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry is required.
