About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Engineer to join our team at Liberty Steel Group. As a Compliance Engineer, you will play a leading role in ensuring that our maintenance and inspection processes are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain compliance with relevant legislation, British and European Standards, and the Business Code of Practice.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in maintenance and inspection processes using best practice and cost-effective solutions.
  • Communicate with site engineers to ensure maintenance plans are in place to cover all aspects of compliance.
  • Manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure department engineers understand best practice.
  • Manage the business statutory reporting system (Prime) to ensure all assets are registered and have the correct reports and inspection regimes in place.
  • Produce regular reports to show the level of compliance across specified areas.
  • Investigate reasons around overdue or outstanding inspections or remedial work.
  • Keep up to date with changes to current legislation and communicate these to other engineers.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors to service and maintain equipment and systems across the business.

Requirements

  • Experience as an engineer, ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent, with a detailed knowledge of their appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Working knowledge of other disciplines.
  • Experience in man-management and the safe execution of work.
  • Proven ability of being self-motivated and a good communicator at all levels.

  • Managing people: contractors effectively to optimise productivity and quality of work.
