The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Engineer to join our team at Liberty Steel Group. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a leading role in ensuring that our equipment maintenance and inspection processes are compliant with relevant legislation, British and European Standards, and our company's policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies.
  • Identify improvement opportunities in maintenance and inspection processes using best practice and cost-effective solutions.
  • Communicate with site engineers to ensure maintenance plans are in place to cover all aspects of compliance.
  • Manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure department engineers understand best practice.
  • Manage the business statutory reporting system (Prime) to ensure all assets are registered and have the correct reports and inspection regimes in place.
  • Produce regular reports to show the level of compliance across specified areas.
  • Investigate reasons around overdue or outstanding inspections or remedial work.
  • Keep up to date with changes to current legislation and communicate these to other engineers.
  • Manage and coordinate contractors to service and maintain equipment and systems.

Requirements:

  • Experience as an engineer, ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of engineering disciplines and working knowledge of other disciplines.
  • Proven ability in man-management and safe execution of work.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to assimilate, organise, and analyse pertinent information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate effectively.
  • Computer literate with practical experience of maintenance management systems.
  • Project management skills.

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm.
