Job Title: Field Care Supervisor
Job Summary:
A well-established care provider in London is seeking a skilled Field Care Supervisor to support their business operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in domiciliary care and possess excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct service user needs assessments, care and support plans, and risk assessments.
- Lead and attend service user first calls to introduce care/support workers.
- Manage a defined patch area, building good working relationships with social workers and healthcare professionals.
- Compile client information and carer management actions, reporting weekly using KPI forms.
- Ensure standards and targets are met for a weekly deadline.
- Organize and attend service user reviews, including reviewing and updating needs assessment, care/support plan, and risk assessment documents.
- Liaise closely with care coordinators to ensure correct service user and care/support worker matching.
- Ensure adequate cover in instances of holiday/sickness cover.
- Deputize for care coordinators, allocate unassigned calls during office hours as required.
- Allocate all unassigned calls during on-call hours, undertaking visits where necessary.
- Ensure all changes to care schedules are reported without delay to the care coordinator and recorded appropriately.
- Undertake on-call duties as directed and record/report all on-call activity to the office.
- Undertake field-based training to ensure care/support workers are working within their competency level.
- Work alongside the Quality and Compliance Manager to ensure quality control procedures and processes are in place.
- Escalate all complaints and safeguarding investigations to the Quality and Compliance Manager.
- Assess care/support workers against Skills for Care Common Induction Standards during shadow working sessions.
- Ensure all filing-related issues in your patch are completed upon risk assessment, face-to-face review, spot check, medication competency, and direct filed observation.
Requirements:
- NVQ level 2
- Willing to work towards an NVQ level 3
- Willing to work towards supervision and management qualifications as appropriate
Experience:
- Experience of working in a domiciliary care setting, preferably as a field care supervisor
- Undertaking service user needs assessments, care and support plans
- Working knowledge of regulatory frameworks (CQC)
- Understanding of on-call provision
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements
Skills:
- Good IT skills
