AWE Plc is seeking a skilled Embedded Systems Developer to enhance our Materials and Analytical Science division. This role is pivotal in delivering innovative solutions to our clients.

Position Overview:
As an Embedded Systems Developer, you will engage in the design, characterization, procurement, installation, commissioning, and ongoing support of various instrumentation and equipment.

Location:
Reading

Compensation:
£36,640 - £54,960 (based on experience and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test embedded software and associated hardware to fulfill technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for software initiatives.
  • Ensure effective communication with stakeholders within the team.
  • Provide technical solutions that align with stakeholder needs.
  • Contribute to small instrumentation projects by offering technical and financial insights and participating in design evaluations.
  • Assist in mentoring and training apprentices to help them fulfill their roles.

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for individuals who possess knowledge or experience in the following areas:

  • Minimum qualifications of HND (preferably Degree or Chartered) or equivalent in software, engineering, or physics.
  • Proficiency in producing and updating technical documentation.
  • Self-driven with the ability to manage individual workloads effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels and the ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Familiarity with Radiological Instrumentation or a willingness to learn through on-the-job training.

Candidates must be prepared to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for this position.
