About the Role

The SmithMartin LLP Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) specializes in research to advance cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and screening. We perform research on efficacy, cost-effectiveness, and technologies to improve existing and establish new screening programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of trial protocols and statistical analysis plans
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, including production of tables, listings, and figures (TLFs), for data monitoring committees
  • Carry out interim and main statistical analyses under the supervision of the CPTU senior statistician

About You

The post holder will be a statistician with a postgraduate degree in statistics and a strong interest in clinical trials. You will have a good understanding of statistical methods and fluency in using statistical software (e.g. R and/or Stata).

Working Arrangements

The post is a full-time (35 hours per week), permanent fixed-term appointment for 18 months. The starting salary will be Grade 4, please note appointments will be made in the range of £38,165-£39,180 without PhD or £40,223-£44,722 with PhD or equivalent experience (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
