Study Skills Facilitator

Job Purpose:
To provide comprehensive study skills support to learners as a member of the ALN Team at Grwp Llandrillo Menai.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teaching staff, mentors, and external agencies to deliver person-centred support and promote inclusive learning practices.
This role requires flexibility, including some evening and Saturday working, with compensatory time off during the week.
Main Responsibilities:- Support and advise learners in acquiring skills tailored to their individual needs.
- Advise learners on the effective use of learning resources.
- Contribute to the Study Skills Team to provide study support and assist learners in developing numeracy and literacy skills.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to adopt and apply inclusive approaches to study skills within their teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- Develop learning resources within the Study Centre and programme areas for use by all learners and staff.
- Work with learners as individuals or in groups to ensure satisfactory progress and develop individual development plans.
- Facilitate initial assessments of learning needs and assist with the development of action plans for learners.
- Record learner attendance, targets, and progress in accordance with college procedures.
- Assist teaching staff in monitoring and reviewing learner progress in skills development.
- Escalate and refer concerns to the Personal Tutor as appropriate and liaise with academic and support staff for further support referrals.
- Contribute to the development and integration of ILT projects and strategies into the curriculum.
- Provide data to the Learning Support Co-ordinator/Team Leader and ALN Grwp Manager as requested.
- Undertake any other duties and comply with reasonable instructions from your line manager, Assistant Principal, or Principal.
