The Position

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, as a Commercial Gas Technician, you will perform a variety of gas-related tasks at client locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing plumbing, heating, and minor ventilation tasks
  • Conducting material take-offs from technical drawings
  • Diagnosing faults in heating systems
  • Completing on-site reactive maintenance
  • Servicing commercial gas boilers and overhead gas radiant heaters
  • Maintaining commercial gas catering equipment

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Qualified in both Domestic and Commercial Gas
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing heating system faults
  • Possession of an NVQ / City & Guilds qualification in building services or plumbing
  • Valid CSCS card holder
  • Non-Domestic Gas Safe certification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong attention to detail, with a drive to excel in a fast-paced environment
  • A full UK driving license

While not mandatory, OFTEC, IPAF, and PASMA certifications would be advantageous, as would an SSSTS card, asbestos awareness, and first aid training. Experience with LPG in both domestic and commercial settings is also beneficial; however, training can be provided.

Compensation Package

  • Competitive pay rate around £19.50 per hour, based on experience (equivalent to an annual salary of £43,000)
  • Overtime opportunities available at enhanced rates
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, totaling 42.5 hours per week
