Position Overview

Role: Business Studies Educator, Sgoil Lionacleit
Work Hours: 35 hours per week, maternity cover
Salary: £41,000 - £51,000 per annum, inclusive of £2,000 Distant Islands Allowance

The objective of this role is to enhance the overall effectiveness of the educational institution in the following key areas:

(a) Curriculum Development

(b) Student Care and Welfare

(c) Collaborative Engagement

(d) Professional Growth

In accordance with the policies set forth by the educational institution and the governing education authority, the responsibilities of the educator include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Delivering instruction to assigned classes along with necessary preparation and assessment.
  2. Contributing to the development of the educational curriculum.
  3. Assessing, documenting, and reporting on student progress.
  4. Preparing students for assessments and aiding in the administration of examinations.
  5. Providing guidance and support to students regarding their educational journey.
  6. Promoting and ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of students.
  7. Collaborating with parents, support staff, and other professionals.
  8. Engaging in relevant and agreed-upon professional development activities.
  9. Participating in school planning, achievement enhancement, and individual reviews.
  10. Contributing to maintaining order and addressing the broader needs of the school.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree or diploma and hold registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
