Hydrologist Specialist

CV Library is seeking a highly experienced Principal Hydrologist to join our team in Glasgow. As a specialist in hydrology, hydrogeology, and environmental management, you will be responsible for leading a team of experts in completing various hydrological, hydrogeological, EIA, and peat restoration projects for residential, commercial, and renewable energy clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in producing and managing EIA chapters, private water supply assessments, watercourse crossing surveys, peat management plans, and other related tasks. You will also be expected to manage and mentor a team of professionals, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of hydrologists and hydrogeologists in completing EIA chapters and supporting appendices.
- Conduct private water supply assessments and watercourse crossing surveys.
- Develop peat management plans and peat hazard landslide risk assessments.
- Manage surface water management plans and flood risk assessments for planning applications.
- Conduct drainage impact assessments and hydrological assessments.
- Use Infodrainage for drainage modelling.
- Conduct water quality assessments and pollution prevention plans.
- Lead peat assessments and peat surveys for windfarms.
- Manage team performance and provide mentoring support.
