Principal Hydrologist Opportunity

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Principal Hydrologist to join a dynamic team in Glasgow. As a specialist in hydrology, hydrogeology, and environmental management, you will be responsible for leading projects and managing a team of experts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in producing and managing EIA chapters, private water supply assessments, watercourse crossing surveys, and peat management plans. You will also be responsible for team management and mentoring.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including hydrological, hydrogeological, EIA, and peat restoration projects for residential, commercial, and renewable energy projects. You will be expected to complete technical work, including:

  • Producing and managing EIA chapters and their supporting appendices
  • Private water supply assessments
  • Watercourse crossing surveys
  • Peat management plans
  • Peat hazard landslide risk assessments
  • Surface water management plans
  • Flood risk assessments for planning applications
  • Drainage impact assessments
  • Hydrological assessments
  • Drainage modelling using Infodrainage
  • Water quality assessments
  • Pollution prevention plans
  • Peat assessments and peat surveys for windfarms
  • Team management and mentoring
