Key Responsibilities

Oversee the operations of the site to ensure it is conducted in a secure and effective manner, upholding the esteemed standards that Joseph Gallagher Ltd is known for.

Maximize the financial performance of the contract.

Develop procurement timelines and collaborate with the procurement team to guarantee that sites are sufficiently equipped to accomplish their tasks.

Continuously monitor forecasts, keeping the team updated on any changes, and meticulously manage the project scope to account for unexpected construction expenses or resources, ensuring appropriate reserves are maintained.

Communicate risks and opportunities to the senior management team.

Deliver work that meets specified quality standards without defects. Ensure the creation and execution of Project Plans, Risk Assessments, Inspection Test Plans, and waste management strategies, in accordance with company protocols.

Maintain comprehensive site diaries and records. Foster a competitive environment to drive down costs and challenge existing practices.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

Proven experience in managing tunneling projects within highly regulated settings in the UK, particularly with Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM).

Strong knowledge of NEC3 Option A & C contracts and adeptness in change management.

Experienced in Design Management Programs and Risk Management, including the production of Cost Value Reports, cost control, forecasting, and value assessment.

A degree or HNC in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.

SMSTS certification.

Ability to critically assess designs and resolve issues effectively.

Capability to manage and successfully deliver a project with minimal supervision.
