Key Responsibilities

As a Laminating Production Engineer at Red Bull Racing & Technology, you will be responsible for creating achievable and efficient laminating processes, providing front-line technical support to the manufacturing team, and ensuring the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of digital laminate manufacturing data and associated processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  1. Developing and implementing laminating manufacturing data, including laser projection ply boundaries and target files, templates, and nested ply files, consistent with the Laminate Manual/Design.
  2. Providing shop floor support for the laser projection process and collaborating with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth operations.
  3. Reviewing manufacturing data alongside Laminate Designers and the Laminate Manual to ensure manufacturing data will deliver design specifications.
  4. Supporting the creation of master routings, including working with manufacturing to specify estimated production times.
  5. Collaborating with the manufacturing team to investigate issues identified during first-off manufacture.
  6. Challenging manufacturing feedback to enable justified, actionable feedback to Laminate Design at the appropriate points in the design lifecycle to drive process and design for manufacture improvements.
  7. Leading structured problem-solving activity to determine the root cause of process issues, reported from NCR/Fault or time delays, and working alongside Quality and Laminate Design to ensure laminating processes will produce the right quality part, first time, every time.
  8. Liaising daily with manufacturing team leaders to develop and install best practice working procedures and creating and maintaining procedures.
Key Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  1. NX CAD or equivalent.
  2. Fibersim or equivalent.
  3. Composite laminating.
  4. Laser projection.
  5. Composite laminate design.
  6. Composite tooling techniques.
