Key Responsibilities

As a Laminating Production Engineer at Red Bull Racing & Technology, you will be responsible for creating achievable and efficient laminating processes, providing front-line technical support to the manufacturing team, and ensuring the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of digital laminate manufacturing data and associated processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create laminating manufacturing data, including laser projection ply boundaries and target files, templates, and nested ply files, consistent with the Laminate Manual/Design.
  2. Provide shop floor support for the laser projection process, ensuring seamless execution and troubleshooting.
  3. Collaborate with Laminate Designers and the Laminate Manual to review manufacturing data, ensuring it meets design specifications.
  4. Support the creation of master routings, including working with manufacturing to specify estimated production times.
  5. Investigate issues during first-off manufacture and provide actionable feedback to Laminate Design to drive process and design for manufacture improvements.
  6. Lead structured problem-solving activities to determine the root cause of process issues, working with Quality and Laminate Design to ensure laminating processes produce high-quality parts.
  7. Liaise daily with manufacturing team leaders to develop and install best practice working procedures, creating and maintaining procedures.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. NX CAD or equivalent experience.
  2. Fibersim or equivalent expertise.
  3. Composite laminating knowledge.
  4. Laser projection skills.
  5. Composite laminate design understanding.
  6. Composite tooling techniques expertise.
