Purpose of Role:
We are seeking a skilled Reinsurance Technician to join our team at Lawes Consulting Group. As a Reinsurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in the retention and development of our clients' portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Liaise with brokers and underwriters to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Provide broker support through interaction with the broker team, preparing renewal statistics, and assisting with all aspects of slip production.
- Creation of forms, spreadsheets, and bordereaux to facilitate efficient data management.
- Preparation of cover notes, issuing debit and credit notes to clients, and creation of policies slips and endorsements as required.
- Deal directly with clients by phone and email, ensuring prompt and effective communication.
- Correspond with overseas insurers on a regular basis to maintain strong relationships.
- Maintain company databases, including a physical filing system, to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
- Process premium and claims on Lirma/Xchanging, and manage outstanding debt in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Responsible for the balancing of cashbooks for premium bank accounts and rendering statements in a timely fashion.
- Allocate receipts and payments, investigate differences, and liaise with the technical team and brokers.
- Ensure payment requests are prepared accurately and efficiently, and review bank reconciliations daily to address any queries.
- Maintain and monitor the Insurers log on a regular basis, and produce month-end bordereau for review and submission to carriers.
Role Requirements:
Essential:
- Minimum 2+ years' experience within Reinsurance.
- Previous experience in slip production is mandatory.
Preferred:
- Previous exposure to working within the Caribbean, Latin American, and North African Reinsurance Markets.
- Insurance qualifications are desired, and full support will be provided for those pursuing certification.
