Lead Power Electronics Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Power Electronics Design Engineer to join our team at Octagon Group. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative power electronics solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop AC-DC and DC-DC switch-mode power supplies using various topologies
  • Provide technical expertise in new product design and modification of existing products
  • Responsible for component part selection, considering obsolescence, availability, and cost
  • Foster creativity and innovation in design solutions
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver projects from concept to manufacturing

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering/Power Electronics or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in AC-DC/DC-DC switch-mode power supply design from conception to production
  • Experience of wide range of topologies
  • Deep knowledge of EMC, thermals, magnetic design, analogue, and digital design
