We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to become part of our Jamaica Court team as a Retirement Housing Assistant with Meal Services. Our devoted staff is committed to ensuring that individuals aged 60 and above can enjoy their independence while we take care of essential needs such as meal preparation, maintenance, and garden upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will undertake various tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in communal areas, ensuring they meet the expectations of our residents and visitors. You will assist in preparing the dining area for mealtimes, warming up pre-prepared meals, and delivering them to residents.
Occasionally, the Assistant will be required to clean vacant apartments and external pathways within the development, as well as provide general and emergency support to residents as needed.
Additionally, you will respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate actions in the absence of the Manager and providing coverage for the development office when necessary.
Work Schedule
The position entails 16 hours of work per week, specifically on weekends, from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, which includes a 30-minute unpaid break.

Role Requirements
While prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided.
A genuine interest in working with older adults and the ability to respond calmly to requests for assistance are essential qualities for this role.
A REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Qualification or equivalent is preferred.
