Job Opportunity at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate midwife to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a Midwife Practitioner, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality, individualized care to birthing people and their families throughout the perinatal period.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of birthing people, providing antenatal care and support.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide labour care in all areas of maternity care, including labour ward, low-risk birth centers, and homebirths.
  • Support birthing people who require extra support, including individualized care and support plans.
  • Provide enhanced postnatal care to families and newborns, including parent education.
  • Work in a continuity model of care that aims to improve outcomes for birthing people and families from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Requirements
  • Registered midwife on the relevant part of the NMC Register.
  • Commitment to professional development and a forward-thinking approach to midwifery care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A driving license and access to a car, as this role requires regular on-call commitments.
