Position Overview

Senior Electrical Services Consultant

Our organization, a comprehensive property and construction firm, is currently in search of a skilled Intermediate/Senior Electrical Services Consultant to enhance our team. This role is tailored for an individual with a strong electrical engineering background.

This position is open to candidates at either the Intermediate or Senior level.

This is a full-time, permanent role, operating from 08:30 to 17:00.

The successful candidate will provide engineering expertise to the practice, focusing on M&E engineering within the built environment, encompassing both design and project management duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all projects are executed to a high technical standard, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Engage in fee-earning activities, contributing to the design of projects where necessary, particularly in areas requiring advanced technical knowledge.
  • Complete assignments as directed by the team leader, assisting in the development of effective engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients to define project objectives and budgetary considerations.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and drawings based on client requirements.
  • Evaluate received tenders and compile tender reports with recommendations.
  • Oversee project management of site activities from initiation to completion.
  • Monitor site operations to ensure compliance with specifications and finalize contractor accounts.
  • Conduct inspections of existing systems and provide condition assessments.
  • Prepare monthly fee invoicing.
  • Achieve annual and monthly fee targets as set by the office leadership.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or master's in Engineering.
  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and/or The Energy Institute (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer status or nearing completion.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Proficiency in IES (Mechanical) or Amtech (Electrical) design software.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, codes of practice, CIBSE guidelines, building regulations, and industry best practices.
