Position Overview

Role Summary

The Child and Family Support Specialist will assist Social Workers in their daily responsibilities and engage directly with children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with children and their families to support social workers in conducting assessments and investigations.
  • Engage in direct interactions with children, young people, and their families, focusing on building family resilience and providing practical assistance.
  • Maintain detailed records of all casework to demonstrate effective practice throughout the child's journey, ensuring compliance with relevant inspection standards.
  • Promote and facilitate participation among children, young people, and families, adhering to best practices in safeguarding and following established policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective engagement with children, parents, caregivers, and other professionals. While experience in delivering frontline statutory interventions is beneficial, it is not mandatory. Candidates should be open to training and learning from colleagues. Key qualifications include:

  • A valid driving license and access to personal transportation.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records in a timely manner.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and perform well under pressure.
