About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Overhead Line Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in the UK. As a key player in the UK transmission and distribution sector, our client is committed to delivering essential new build infrastructure across the country.

This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility between home and office locations in Glasgow, Horsham, or the Midlands. As a design engineer in the HV OHL sector, you will join a global team, enhancing your expertise in HV OHL design, construction, procurement, and consultancy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct overhead line design studies to support construction and consultancy projects.
  • Produce electrical line performance assessments and safety studies.
  • Create and utilise OHL support models within transmission design frameworks.
  • Evaluate, select, and quantify transmission line components for projects.
  • Ensure safety by design throughout the design process.
  • Drive innovation in project solutions.
  • Deliver design outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Basic understanding of overhead transmission line design.
  • Proficiency in PLS CADD/Tower for developing design outputs.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work as part of a dispersed and remote team, communicating effectively through collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams.
