Romford, Greater London, United Kingdom NELFT North East London Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you interested in joining a vibrant and culturally diverse team focused on paediatric Speech and Language Therapy?

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Band 6 therapist experienced in dysphagia and complex needs to become part of an innovative and supportive team within a progressive healthcare organization. This role offers a flexible and agile working environment where staff wellbeing is prioritized. There are opportunities for professional development and potential advancement to a Band 7 position in the future.

We are seeking a dedicated therapist who is passionate about supporting infants, children, and young people, along with their families, in areas related to feeding, swallowing, and communication. The role includes working in special educational settings and collaborating with other professionals, such as dietitians.

As a member of our team, you will deliver services to children and young people aged 0-19 who present with various speech, language, communication, and feeding challenges. This will take place in dedicated clinics, community settings, and patient homes. You will receive robust support through one-on-one supervision, safeguarding oversight, and collaboration with neighboring teams.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will possess a recognized degree in Speech and Language Therapy and hold HCPC registration. You will demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, and empathy, to effectively address the unique needs of clients, families, and other professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a caseload of clients with moderate to profound communication needs and/or feeding and swallowing difficulties.
  • Providing high-quality speech and language therapy in collaboration with families, focusing particularly on those with complex needs.
  • Working as an integrated member of the Children's Services team across various settings.
