As one of the largest not-for-profit social care providers in the UK, Creative Support has been dedicated to excellence since its inception in 1991. Annually, we support over 6,000 individuals across 70 local authorities in England, employing around 5,000 committed staff members. With an annual turnover exceeding £160 million, we are registered as a provider of social housing, managing a portfolio of over 1,000 homes dedicated to creating great living environments for those we serve.
Board of Trustees
We are currently seeking to enhance our Board of Trustees with motivated individuals who share our passion for social care and commitment to our charitable mission. Ideal candidates will possess vision, relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. While prior governance experience is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite as we offer tailored training to all new trustees.
Desired Experience
We are particularly interested in candidates with senior operational management experience in social care. However, we also welcome applications from individuals with diverse professional backgrounds or personal experiences related to support services. We value transferable skills from the charitable, public, or private sectors.
Role Responsibilities
As a trustee, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective governance and strategic oversight of our organization. This includes:
• Attending a minimum of 6 evening Board meetings each year (held bi-monthly)
• Participating in the Annual General Meeting and occasional planning sessions
• Contributing to a committee aligned with your expertise (current committees include Finance & Audit, Housing, People & Performance, and Quality & Practice Development)
Committee meetings are also held bi-monthly, with Board meetings taking place at our Head Office.
