Job Title: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at ACS Performance. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex mechanical systems and instruments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design authority for all electronics, software, and mechanical design activities within the company.
  • Support the Director of Engineering in management of design & development projects.
  • Assign tasks to the Mechanical Design team, setting project goals, negotiating with vendors and clients, ensuring projects stay within time and budgetary restraints. Mentoring and developing the team.
  • Scientific instrumentation design from concept to final product.
  • Forward look at design and manufacturing tools/techniques that could be adopted by the company.
  • Specific product design activities within projects.
  • Project Management.
  • Bidding, business promotion, and development.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of engineering disciplines, excellent project management skills, and the ability to lead and develop a design team in a high technology engineering environment. You should have a comprehensive knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and be able to demonstrate the requisite level of design ability and a sound engineering knowledge base.

We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering (2.1 or higher) from a recognized university, with a number of years' experience working as a design engineer in a high technology engineering environment.
