Job Description

Health and Safety Compliance Manager

£45,000 - £50,000 plus car allowance.

Mon – Fri 40 Hrs per week Start date: ASAP

Our client specializes in maintenance and repair on Ground Support equipment and Tooling for the Aviation Industry. As a dedicated Health and Safety Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and updating comprehensive job safety programs that align with health and safety regulations and company standards. This pivotal role involves training employees on the significance of health and safety practices in the workplace.

  1. Development of H&S Manual: Spearheading the creation and refinement of the Health and Safety manual.
  2. Risk Assessments: Conducting initial Risk Assessments to establish a standardized format.
  3. Analytical Reporting: Generating analytical reports based on safety data.
  4. Fire Safety Oversight: Maintaining fire safety policies and procedures.
  5. Equipment Inspection: Inspecting production equipment and processes to ensure safety compliance.
  6. Field Service Engineer Coordination: Coordinating Field Service Engineer activities and ensuring statutory documentation is up-to-date.
  7. Safety Visits: Coordinating customer safety visits and action plans.
  8. Preventive Focus: Emphasizing prevention through regular equipment maintenance and employee training.
  9. Training Sessions: Presenting safety principles in staff meetings or lecture-type training sessions.
  10. Continuing Education: Participating in ongoing education to stay updated on health and safety protocols and techniques.
  11. Safety Plans: Developing safety plans with suggestions for infrastructure and process improvements.
  12. Information Sharing: Sharing safety information, suggestions, and observations with project leadership to maintain consistency in safety standards.
  13. Goal Achievement: Working towards and achieving company health and safety goals.
  14. Travel between sites: You will be required to travel between 4 company offices and customer sites. Travel and accommodation will be covered.
  15. Compliance Oversight: Reviewing and reporting on staff compliance with health and safety rules, recommending commendations or dismissals based on performance.
    • Aircraft maintenance environment - desirable
    • Accredited Investigation & Root cause analysis qualification.
    • NEBOSH General Certificate - Occupational Health & Safety
    • Experienced at delivering specialist regulatory training.
    • Previous safety management system experience.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification in occupational safety and health.
    • Strong knowledge and practical application of Safety, Health & Welfare.
    • Proficient in computer skills, including Excel.
