Chair of Serious Hazards of Transfusion Steering Group

We are seeking a distinguished and experienced professional to serve as the Chair of the Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT) Steering Group, a prestigious haemovigilance scheme funded by the four UK Blood Transfusion Services and hosted by NHS Blood and Transplant.
About the RoleThe Chair will play a pivotal role in guiding the strategic direction of the organisation, ensuring the successful implementation of key safety initiatives, and fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the SHOT Steering Group
- Develop and implement safety initiatives to enhance transfusion safety in the UK
- Engage with a network of esteemed healthcare professionals, safety experts, and leaders
- Represent the UK Forum and SHOT at national and international levels
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in a senior leadership or safety role within healthcare
- Proven track record of strategic planning and execution of safety initiatives in a healthcare setting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for advancing healthcare quality and innovation
- Commitment to improving patient and staff safety
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction of a prestigious haemovigilance organisation, impact patient safety, and engage with a network of esteemed healthcare professionals.
