Job Overview

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel is seeking a highly skilled HSE Design and CDM Specialist to join our team in England. As a key member of our offshore wind development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental protection in our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Risk Management
    • Develop and implement a project-specific Design Risk Management Plan, detailing deliverables according to stage gate requirements.
    • Work proactively to ensure the delivery of these deliverables in the right quality and at the right time.
  • Designer Competency Assessment
    • Evaluate competency assessments of individuals and organizations to be appointed as Designers.
    • Provide recommendations to the Client on the suitability of Designers.
  • Design Risk Documentation
    • Audit design risk documentation produced by Designers.
    • Advise on improvements required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration and Support
    • Support Designers in taking appropriate steps to mitigate design risks to ALARP.
    • Assist the Principal Designer's representative in ensuring effective collaboration between designers.
  • Project H&S File
    • Contribute to the content of the project H&S File.
  • Process Improvement
    • Map gaps in the Client's CDM process and assist in updating the process.
Requirements
  • UK-based with flexibility and travel availability within the UK.
  • Travel to Denmark will occur.
  • Relevant technical background.
  • Thorough understanding of HSE product safety.
  • Thorough understanding and actual work experience of CDM 2015.
  • Training experience.
  • Recommended 5 years of relevant and practical work experience.
  • Knowledge of design standards, country legislations, Temporary Workplace Directive, product development.
  • Experience in tools used to address design risks (design risk assessments, hazid/hazops, qualitative and quantitative assessments).
  • True QHSE role model with a co-operative and solution-oriented attitude.
  • Good communication skills and able to write and speak English fluently.
  • Caring and honest, motivator with a human touch.
