This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team at Nursery People as a Nursery Room Leader. Our nursery is located near Walton upon Thames, offering easy access to local shops and public transport links.
As a Nursery Room Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of your room, ensuring high-quality childcare is provided to all children. You will work closely with the management team to implement and maintain the EYFS standards in your room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and management for staff within your room, serving as the primary point of contact for parent queries and ensuring the effective deployment of nursery initiatives.
- Ensure the EYFS is implemented and followed to an exemplary standard throughout the room.
- Collaborate with the Management Team to understand and comply with registration and legislative requirements, including those outlined by Ofsted.
- Identify training needs and support the development of staff within the room.
- Be involved in staff recruitment and assist in preparing the staffing rota.
- Support the induction of new staff members and provide proactive assistance as needed.
Requirements:
- Significant experience in managing a room in a nursery setting.
- Full and relevant Early Years qualification, preferably a higher Early Years qualification.
- Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the EYFS.
- Experience in leading and developing a team.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements, safeguarding training, and paediatric first aid.
- Valid DBS check.
- Management or leadership qualification, or willingness to study.
- Understanding of budgets and resource requirements, with the ability to manage a small room budget.
