Key Responsibilities of the Specialist Physiotherapist in Pain Management:

  • Delivering effective and compassionate pain management solutions to individuals and groups as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Enhancing patient understanding of pain, rehabilitation, and self-management techniques both individually and in group settings.
  • Tailoring pain management strategies to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Adhering to clinical standards in compliance with regulatory requirements, including infection control and patient safety.
  • Participating in clinical team development and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Recognizing the significance of psychological approaches in pain management.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience and interest in chronic pain management.
  • Valid NMC or HCPC professional registration.
  • Background in physiotherapy, nursing, or occupational therapy.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.
