We are seeking a highly skilled Building Regulations Specialist to join our Project & Programme Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering some of the UK's most significant projects. Your portfolio will vary across retail, health, energy, commercial property, education, and public sectors.
Your Purpose- Advise and assist clients and in-house teams in fulfilling their responsibilities under the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended) and the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Deliver the Building Regulations Principal Designer function for clients as set out in the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended).
- Use your skills and knowledge to work with designers to review building regulations compliance in design and to help develop practical solutions in line with legislation and best practice.
- Undertake a wide range of Building Safety Consultancy duties in line with agreed service deliverables.
- Undertake building regulation compliance audits and site inspections to ensure compliance is achieved.
- Review building regulation submission packages, undertaking gap analysis reviews, plan appraisals to identify any missing information required to secure building regulation approval.
- Potential to deliver building regulation compliance training (internal and external).
- Learn and apply quality assurance principles.
- Keep up to date and abreast of relevant legislative and best practice changes.
- Class 2/3 Registered Building Inspector (Not essential but must be able to demonstrate competence working on a range of building types and uses).
- Experience of PAS45001 and other integrated management systems.
- Strong background interpreting and applying the building regulations and associated secondary legislation relating to projects, and a good understanding of the technical and functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010.
- Sound technical Building Regulations knowledge combined with an understanding of design and construction and capable of delivering a solutions-focussed service.
- Excellent stakeholder facing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- An understanding of the importance of attention to detail and accuracy in all your work.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to seek guidance on occasions from senior colleagues.
- A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software packages.
- A professional manner and outlook.
- The ability to work concurrently on a portfolio of projects and relevant professional chartership/accreditation with either CABE, CIOB, RICS.
- Experience in a similar Building Safety/ building regulations compliance/design compliance role.
- Demonstrable understanding of construction and design.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
