Job Opportunity: Planner (Energy & Climate team)

Wardell Armstrong, a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, is seeking a skilled Planner to join their Energy & Climate Change team in Truro or Bristol. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual with 3-5 years' experience in planning consultancy or Local Authority background.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare planning applications and assist in project management to ensure timely completion.
  • Develop Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, EIA Screening Requests, and complete application forms.
  • Support senior colleagues in progressing projects from inception to completion.
  • Liaise with clients and Case Officers to ensure effective communication.
  • Appraise new development opportunities, including site appraisals for energy and minerals projects.
  • Conduct site visits and research on live applications, development plans, and supplementary guidance.
  • Support proposal writing and work winning efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Energy & Climate Change team to prepare technical reports, such as Climate Change Impact Assessments and Energy Statements.
Requirements:
  • Hold a good Town Planning or relevant degree.
  • Be actively working towards Chartership in Town Planning or the environmental sector.
  • Demonstrate experience in the English planning system.
  • Have a good technical knowledge of different application types, legislation, and planning policy.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • Exhibit strong report writing and communication skills.
