About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Assessor to join our team at the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD). As a key member of our Pharmaceuticals Section, you will be responsible for assessing the safety of veterinary medicines in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess pharmacological, toxicological, and microbiological data provided by pharmaceutical companies
  • Write comprehensive assessment reports on the pharmacology and toxicology of new active substances
  • Conduct user risk assessments and provide recommendations for Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs)
  • Develop and present training materials to colleagues and external clients
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in pharmacology, toxicology, or a related discipline
  • Experience evaluating scientific data and producing comprehensive reports
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work to strict timelines and deadlines
