Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Primary School

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at an outstanding Primary School in the North Tyneside area.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, working closely with Class Teachers to ensure effective strategies are implemented to promote pupil progress.

This is a full-time, long-term position, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support pupils and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities
  • Preparing resources for lessons
  • Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required
Requirements:
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 ideal, but Level 2 considered)
  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant within Schools in the UK
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with pupils
