Specialized Teaching Assistant

Location: East Riding of Yorkshire

Salary Scale: £84- £98 per day

Status: Full Time

Overview: GSL Education is in search of a dedicated and qualified Specialized Teaching Assistant to join our team in East Riding of Yorkshire. This role is essential in providing support to students with unique educational needs.

Position Summary: As a Specialized Teaching Assistant focusing on Autism and Communication Disorders, you will play a crucial role in helping students with special educational requirements reach their maximum potential within an inclusive learning atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with educators, families, and other support personnel to foster a nurturing and effective educational experience.

Key Duties:

  • Delivering individualized and small group assistance to students facing challenges related to autism and communication.
  • Contributing to the creation and execution of Personalized Learning Plans.
  • Facilitating the social and emotional growth of students.
  • Helping to cultivate a welcoming and inclusive classroom setting.
  • Working alongside teachers, speech therapists, and other specialists to provide customized support.
  • Promoting independence and self-esteem among students.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience with children who have autism and/or communication challenges (preferred but not mandatory).
  • A compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • A dedication to fostering inclusion and equity in educational settings.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) are advantageous but not required.
