About the Role:

Teaching Personnel is in search of a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to become part of a committed team within a school setting. This role is essential in providing support to primary-aged children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), facilitating their engagement in learning, enhancing their social skills, and enabling them to reach their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with ASD, both in one-on-one settings and small groups, tailored to their unique requirements.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in fostering a structured, nurturing, and stimulating educational environment.
  • Implement targeted strategies and interventions aimed at promoting the learning and development of students with ASD.
  • Support students in overcoming challenges related to communication, social interactions, and sensory processing, while encouraging positive behavior and emotional health.
  • Track and document student progress, offering insights and feedback to the teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
  • Work collaboratively with educators, parents, and external specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.
