Job Description

Role Overview

The Royal Society of Chemistry is seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager, Science Communities to join our team on a 12-month, full-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering science community programmes that span the different subject areas in the chemical sciences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver programmes that enable networking and collaboration among members from different career stages and sectors, including industry, academia, and other research organisations.
  • Work with our science communities to facilitate solutions to address chemistry-based problems from discovery to application and drive change.
  • Collaborate with expert colleagues to maximise the impact of our strategic programmes, thought leadership, and policy work for our science communities.

Requirements

  • PhD in chemistry or a related science and engineering area, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working on projects involving multiple stakeholders and/or able to balance and prioritise across multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and establish ongoing 2-way engagement with diverse stakeholders.
  • Initiative and ability to develop new ideas and approaches.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Interest or awareness of chemistry's role in advancing science and technology and of the factors currently influencing the research and innovation environment.
